Hats, scarves and bow ties: baby boy accessories that finish the look

Nineteen small pieces, from a first pair of socks to a velvet bow tie for the family photo. They are the details that turn a simple outfit into a finished one, and each of them is made to sit alongside the knitwear in the rest of the collection.

Most of the range is built for the cold months: hats, berets and scarves in knit and lin, with fur pompons on several styles. Around them sit the pieces you reach for all year, such as bodysuits, socks and tights, and the two bow ties that dress up an everyday look.

What you will find in the collection

Hats and caps (4): a knitted beanie with 2 pompons, a ribbed hat with a fur pompon, a braided hat with a fur pompon and a lin baby cap with a hair pompom.
Berets (3): a lin beret, a lin knitted beret with a fur pompon and a knit beret with a pom pom and fur.
Scarves (5): diamond-pattern, natural hair updo, ribbed, braided and lin knitted styles.
Bow ties (2): one in velvet and one in cheviot fabric.
Bodysuits (2): with a collar, or with a ruffle on the collar.
Socks and tights (3): knitted socks with pompons, knitted socks with buttons and plain baby tights.

Hats and berets: which shape for which day

A beanie or knitted hat sits snugly over the head and ears, which makes it the practical choice for windy walks. The collection offers three versions with different textures: the beanie with 2 pompons, the ribbed hat with a fur pompon and the braided hat with a fur pompon, plus a lin baby cap for milder days.

The berets are a softer, flatter shape and tend to look more dressed up. The plain lin beret is the simplest, while the two with a fur pompon add a bit of volume on top. If you are choosing between a hat and a beret, think about the outfit: a hat for sets and dungarees you wear to play, a beret for the looks you wear to visit family.

Scarves: five knits to choose from

The scarves are where the collection plays most with texture. The diamond-pattern scarf is the most graphic, the ribbed and braided ones keep to classic knit stitches, and the lin knitted scarf offers a different look from the wool-style ones. The natural hair updo scarf is the odd one out, a distinctive piece for anyone who wants something less traditional.

Three of the scarves (ribbed, braided and lin knit) are listed alongside a natural fur pompon hat or beanie. Check each product page for exactly what is included before you buy.

Bow ties: velvet or cheviot fabric

A bow tie is the quickest way to dress up an everyday outfit. The velvet bow tie is the more formal of the two and works well for celebrations, while the cheviot fabric bow tie has a more textured, relaxed look that still lifts a plain body or shirt. Either one goes well with the bodysuit with a collar.

Bodysuits, socks and tights: the layer underneath

These are the pieces that make the rest of the outfit work. The bodysuit with a collar and the bodysuit with a ruffle on the collar give a neat neckline under a jacket, a romper or dungarees. The knitted socks, with pompons or with buttons, add a small detail at the other end of the outfit, and the plain tights go with almost anything in the collection.

Layering for winter walks

For colder days, the easiest formula is hat, scarf and a coat in the same family of knit, so the textures and colours match. Our baby boy coats and jackets are designed to go with this kind of accessory, and the plain tights and socks keep the outfit finished from the bottom up.

Accessories as a gift

Small pieces make good gifts because they are easy to choose and easy to combine with what a family already has. A bow tie with a pair of socks works for a celebration, and a hat with a matching scarf makes a complete winter gift. Since sizes vary by piece, each product page includes a size guide, so you can check the measurements before you decide.

Common questions

Which accessories are best for a special occasion?

The velvet bow tie and the cheviot fabric bow tie are the dressiest options in the collection, and they combine well with the bodysuit with a collar. A beret also adds a more polished look than a beanie.

What is the difference between a hat and a beret?

A hat or beanie fits snugly over the head and ears, while a beret is flatter and softer in shape. In this collection, the hats are knitted in different textures, and the berets come in lin or knit, some with a fur pompon.

Do the scarves come with a hat?

Three of the scarves (ribbed, braided and lin knit) are listed with a natural fur pompon hat or beanie in their name. Each product page explains exactly what is included, so check it before you buy.

Are the fur pompons real fur?

Several product names mention natural fur. The material of each piece is described on its own product page.

What sizes are the accessories available in?

Sizes vary from one piece to another. Every product page includes a size guide with reference measurements.

Can I combine a bow tie with a bodysuit?

Yes. The bodysuit with a collar is the natural partner for a bow tie, and the version with a ruffle on the collar gives a softer look if you prefer to skip it.

How do I wash knitted hats, scarves and socks?

Care varies by piece and is shown on the product page and on the garment's label. Pieces with fur details usually need a gentler wash, so follow the label closely.
